Glass Options

JK windows and doors are supplied with the latest in glass technology from Viridian – Australia’s leading supplier of glass products. With an extensive range of window, door and glazing options available from JK you can achieve optimum energy efficiency, improved comfort and enhanced safety and security.

Understanding Glass Performance

To make glass performance a little easier to understand we’ve put together the table below which explains the 3 key measurements.

1. Insulation (U Value): The amount of heat gain or loss between interior and exterior environments. The lower the number, the more stable the room temperature.


2. Solar (SHGC): The heat transferred through the glass from exposure to sun radiation. The lower the number, the less heat is gained from the sun.


3. Daylight (Light Transmission %): The percentage of visible light passing through the glass. The higher the number, the clearer the glass.

Note: Each window or door product combination also has an official WERS ratings to indicate the exact performance of that particular design and glass combination. Please ask a member of staff for these details.
